Wing Tsun Wooden Dummy Techniques Pdf Download: The Essential Part of Wing Tsun Kuen

While the generic Wing Chun dummy plans are more than enough to start training you have to consider that some lineages could have different wooden dummy plans. Before buying or building it check if your lineage has differences from the generic one. In Fig.1 and 2 you can find the general wooden dummy blueprints with some important measurements using different views. In each view, all the needed details are specified with good precision. From Fig. 3 to Fig. 6 you can find all the measurements written with the US metric system.

The original Wooden Dummy is made using teak wood, however, keep in mind that teak is VERY expensive and becoming increasingly not easy to get ahold of. During your wooden dummy construction, you will face up to one challenging part: how to make squares into the wood part of the trunk for the arms to go into. For someone with no experience cutting squares in wood, this requires some extra construction, but it can be created using a drill, chisel, and file.if(typeof ez_ad_units!='undefined')ez_ad_units.push([[250,250],'wingchunkungfu_eu-box-4','ezslot_3',118,'0','0']);__ez_fad_position('div-gpt-ad-wingchunkungfu_eu-box-4-0');

You can calculate the ideal height to set your Wooden Dummy using your own height. The wooden dummy has to be designed around you as much as possible. If your Mook Yan Jong is too high you will tend to raise your shoulders and broke your structure instead of building a powerful one. Conversely, if your dummy is placed too low you will hunch on it and you will lose the correct position, used to train with it.

The principles, theories and techniques of Wing Chun are founded on the three hand form and the wooden dummy techniques. Training begins with Sil Lim Tau (little idea), Chum Kiu (bridge seeking), Biu Gee (thrusting fingers). Then the serious of students will learn Muk Yan Jong; (wooden dummy), Luk Dim Boon Gaun (six & a half point pole) and finally Bart Cham Dao (eight cutting double knives).

Founded on the basis of balance, structure, and stance, VT is a simple fighting skill thatcan be used to improve consistency, body balance, and simultaneous body movements, mainlythrough high-impact training practices such as wooden dummy training and sticking-handexercises12,13,14,15). A previous study found that elderly VT practitioners had higherradial bone and handgrip strengths and better standing balance performance than healthyseniors who were not VT practitioners. These improvements are attributable to the variouscomponents of the VT training. First, VT involves repetitive upper limb striking movementsthat continually load high peak forces and impacts on the forearm bones. The bone strengthof the distal radius, therefore, increases to accommodate these mechanical demands. Second,repeated practice of striking and sticking-hand techniques and fundamental standing controlrequires continuous contraction and relaxation of the upper and lower limb muscles, whichshould theoretically increase muscle strength. Third, better standing balance control isaccredited to the important VT foundation techniques. In practicing static balance control,practitioners sustain postural stability during a variety of upper limb movements11).

Finally, this martial art is pronounced quite identically in the West, but is written with many spellings: ving tsun, wing tsun, wing tsung, yongchun, weng chun, wyng tjun, ving tjun, wing tzun, wing tschun. Wing Chun is the most common form, used apply to all lineages of this martial art.[10][full citation needed][11][additional citation(s) needed]

Although many of the movements are similar, Siu Nim Tau varies significantly between the different branches of Wing Chun. In Ip Man's Wing Chun, the first section of the form is done by training the basic power for the hand techniques by tensing and relaxing the arms.[44] In Moy Yat's Wing Chun, the first section of the form is done without muscle tension and slowly in a meditative, calm, and being "in the moment" way.[45] In 1972, weeks before he died, Ip Man demonstrated Siu Nim Tau (also known as Siu Lim Tau) on film, showing how the form is to be performed.[46]

By popular demand, we decided to publish the assembly instructions (measurements, materials, montage, etc.) of the PVC version of the classic wooden dummy of Wing Chun (Muk Yan Jong or Mu Ren Zhuang). Before proceeding, it is important to underline a few premises (some of which have been already mentioned earlier, read A Wing Chun wooden dummy like in PVC):
